LA JUNTA RACEWAY - LAPPING DAY POLICIES
SCHEDULE-
Gate opens at 8:00 am. Driver's Meeting at 8:30 am Track goes hot at 9:00 am
Lunch break from 12 to 1
Track goes cold at 4:00 pm. Gate closed at 5:00 pm
Club Weekend Test/Tune Schedules are typically Track Hot 10am to 5pm
REGISTRATION AND FEES-
Cash, Check or Credit Card payment is accepted at the track.
Entry fee is $100.00 per driver. -registration is for a full day. We do not offer half days.
FORMAT-
Open track. Lapping days with higher participation may be split into sessions as deemed necessary by track management.
We may lap the track in both directions, clockwise and counter-clockwise. Morning / Afternoon alternately
DRIVER QUALIFICATION-
18 years of age or older. Current valid driver's license.
Anyone who has not participated in a Lapping Day at LA JUNTA RACEWAY must attend the morning Driver's Meeting.
(a previous Club organized event here is not a lapping day)
Late arrivals will be allowed to participate after meeting with the Track Manager,
but we'd prefer to keep this to a minimum. Please make effort to attend the Morning Driver's Meeting.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT-
All participants must wear a helmet, long pants, closed toe shoes.
OEM 3 point seat belt minimum.
Race cars must have a fire suppression system or a driver accessible fire extinguisher.
CAR-
There is no formal Tech Inspection required for participation in a lapping day.
Please make sure your car is in track worthy condition before arriving at the track.
Car must be compliant with the La Junta Raceway - Minimum Tech Requirements. (see page)
All loose items must be removed from the vehicle before entering the track.
Track Management reserves the right to inspect any vehicle that enters the track at any point in the day.
Track Management reserves the right to require correction of any issues that are a safety concern
before allowing any vehicle on track.
Track Management reserves the right to disallow any vehicle from continuing participation if a safety issue arises.
No convertibles allowed without adequate rollover protection.
No high profile vehicles allowed (trucks, SUV's or similar) due to rollover potential.
Track Management reserves the right to disallow any vehicle access to the track for any reason.
PASSENGERS-
Passengers are allowed at the discretion and approval of Track Management.
Only EXPERIENCED DRIVERS that display good car control will be approved for passengers.
Passengers must wear a helmet, long pants, closed toe shoes.
Vehicle passenger restraints must be equal to the driver's restraints.
ATTITUDE LIMITATION-
All track participants are to be courteous and respectful of each other.
Over-aggressive, unsafe or unsportsmanlike behavior on the track will not be tolerated.
Track Management reserves the right to disallow any Driver from continuing participation in the Lapping Day
if there is an obvious disregard for safety and/or respect for the other participants.
PASSING-
Passing is allowed on the Straights with POINT-BY only.
If you are impeding traffic (unaware of cars behind you), We will display a passing flag.
AMENITIES-
There is NO FOOD VENDOR at the track during Lapping Days. Please plan accordingly for Lunch.
There is NO FUEL at the track. 91 octane is available 2-3 miles south of the track in La Junta.
Men and Women's restroom facilities are available in our air conditioned Classroom building.
REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY-
In the event of a car/driver not being able to participate in the full scheduled day (due to mechanical failure,
safety issues/non-compliance with Tech Guidelines, or Driver disciplinary), there will be no entry fee refund
once the participant's car has entered the track surface.
Cancellation due to illness, unforeseen circumstances, or inclement weather will be addressed on a case by case
basis as deemed appropriate by Track Management.
If a Lapping Day is cancelled and re-scheduled due to weather, paid registration fees will apply as a credit for a
future Lapping Day.
